This Week In IPEDS (TWII)

Dear Keyholders and Coordinators:

It's hard to believe but another year is almost over. We've seen a lot of changes in 2005: the new IPEDS Data Analysis System (DAS) and Tables Library; reports templates and forms facsimiles in the Peer Analysis System; a combined HR survey form; and many other new features. We also have some nice improvements coming to the website in the near future, including a new and improved IPEDS COOL.

At this time, I would like to wish you all a very happy holiday season and best wishes for a successful, safe and happy new year. After nearly 30 years of Federal service, I'll be retiring from the Department of Education as of January 3, 2006. These have been very good years for me because of the many wonderful people I've had the privilege to meet and talk to from the institutions, the states, and throughout the postsecondary community. It has been my pleasure working with you and I wish you the best.

On another note, the IPEDS Help Desk also extends their wishes for a joyous holiday season. They will continue to operate on a normal schedule with the following exceptions:

• Closed: December 26th - 27th and January 2nd.

Keep in mind that the Winter collection of HR data will close on January 25th for institutions. Institutions must complete the Employees By Assigned Position (EAP) portion first; all additional pages are generated based on your response to EAP. Also, make sure your data are locked (use the "Am I DONE" feature).
