Proposed “College Scorecard”

The White House recently announced the proposed creation of a College Scorecard for all degree-granting colleges and universities. IPEDS data will be utilized for some of the data items included in the Scorecard. The White House has posted the proposed Scorecard, and is seeking feedback, at: http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/education/scorecard

IPEDS Analytics: Delta Cost Project Database

The IPEDS Analytics: Delta Cost Project Database is now available at http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/deltacostproject/ . The database will be updated annually and includes institutional data from each of the IPEDS surveys for the entire time span from 1987-2009. The data have been harmonized to allow for longitudinal analyses, which is particularly pertinent for the finance data. The database can be downloaded in SAS, SPSS, STATA, and CSV formats.

College Navigator Updates

College Navigator ( http://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/) has recently been updated to include the following data collected during the Fall 2011 data collection: student expenses (pricing) data, admissions data, degree/certificate programs offered in 2010-11, and awards conferred during 2010-11. Additionally, Net Price Calculator URLs have been added, and the search function now allows for searching of completely online institutions.
