This Week In IPEDS (TWII)
Changes to Occupational Categories for the 2012-13 Human Resources (HR) Data Collection
The proposed changes to the 2012-13 Human Resources (HR) data collection (first announced in September 2011) have now been approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
Institutions should prepare to report using the new categories, which align with the 2010 Standard Occupation Classification (SOC) codes. Each job at the institution will need to be categorized according to the 2010 SOC in order to report HR data in 2012-13. An HR/SOC Resources website will be available on the IPEDS website later this spring. In the meantime, more information on the 2010 SOC can be found at ( http://www.bls.gov/soc/).
Additional details on the HR changes can be found at: http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/surveys/datacollection2012-13.asp .
Important Upcoming Dates:
- The IPEDS spring data collection closes to Keyholders on April 11, 2012
