Updated ‘Reported Data’ Now Available in the Data Center

The ‘Reported Data’ in the IPEDS Data Center has recently been updated and is available at http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/datacenter . The Reported Data is a condensed display of the individual IPEDS survey component forms and is available onscreen or in a .pdf format. To access the data, once you have entered the Data Center, select an institution, click on the institution's name and then choose Reported Data. Recent updates from the 2010-11 collection year include the E12, C, and HR components in the Publicly Released level, while additional data available in the Early Release level includes the EF, Finance, SFA, and GRS components.

Online Tutorials for IPEDS Data Submission

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR), with support from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), offers free online tutorials for completing IPEDS survey components. The tutorials available at http://www.airweb.org/page.asp?page=2002 are around three minutes in length and provide an overview of key concepts, such as SFA Student Groups, Graduation Rates, and Retention Rates. Tutorials for the 2011-12 Winter/Spring IPEDS survey components are currently available. Please note that links to these tutorials are also available from the collection system survey screens, so they can easily be viewed while submitting data in the IPEDS system.

Net Price Calculator Web Addresses Now Available

Institution Web Addresses (URLs) for Net Price Calculators are now displayed on College Navigator (http://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator). These URLs are collected on the IPEDS Institution Identification page. Additionally, a downloadable list of the URLs is now available at the Net Price Calculator Information Center (http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/Section/Net_price_calculator). The list currently can be accessed under "Resources."
