Data Feedback Reports for 2010-11 have been Emailed

The annual Data Feedback Reports (DFRs) were emailed to institutional Keyholders on October 13, 2011, and Coordinators also received links to the DFRs for their institutions. If you did not receive the email, please check your spam or junk folders. As a reminder, printed copies of the DFRs will be mailed to institution Chief Executives no later than October 31, 2011.

College Affordability and Transparency Explanation (CATE) Form

The proposed collection for the College Affordability and Transparency Explanation (CATE) Form was recently posted for public comment in the Federal Register; the notice is available at http://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2011/09/30/2011-25300/notice-of-proposed-information-collection-requests. The CATE Form collection will satisfy the statutory requirements in HEOA for additional information from those institutions appearing on the Highest Tuition and Fees and/or Net Price Increase College Affordability and Transparency Center Lists. The information collected using the CATE Form will be used to write an annual summary report to Congress which will be published on the College Navigator website. The Federal Register comment period for the form ends on November 29, 2011; comments regarding burden and/or the collection activity requirements should be electronically mailed to ICDocketMgr@ed.gov.

Net Price Calculator Reminder

As a reminder, the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 requires each postsecondary institution that participates in Title IV federal student aid programs to post a net price calculator for full-time, first-time undergraduate students on its website by October 29, 2011. The URL for the calculator must be included on the Institution Identification page within the IPEDS data collection system. More information about the Net Price Calculator requirement can be found at: http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/Section/Net_price_calculator.

Important Upcoming Dates:

• IPEDS Fall Data collection closes to Keyholders on October 19, 2011
• Institutional Net Price Calculator required to be posted by October 29, 2011
• IPEDS Winter Data collection opens on December 7, 2011
