Proposed Schedule and Data Collection Changes for 2011-12

The proposed schedule for the 2011-12 IPEDS collection cycle, as well as proposed changes to the data being collected, have now been posted at the IPEDS Data Provider Center (https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/), and are also accessible via the links below and from the Help menu in the data collection system. These changes are pending approval by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). However, institutions should begin to prepare for these changes so to be ready if they are approved.

College Navigator Data Updates

Data updates have recently been made to College Navigator ( http://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/). Updated data provided through the Prior Year Revision System has been posted to these sections/items: enrollment, student-to-faculty ratio, graduation rates, retention rates, financial aid, and net price. Additionally, updated data collected during Fall 2010 was also posted to Navigator at the end of January, including student expenses 2007-08 through 2010-11, admissions and test scores 2010-11 and programs/degrees awarded 2009-10. The multiyear calculator was also updated using the latest student expenses data.

Reminder: AIR Seeking Experienced Keyholders to Serve as IPEDS Trainers

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is looking for experienced keyholders and data users to assist in developing and delivering IPEDS training. Individuals associated with for-profit/proprietary institutions or with experience submitting and using IPEDS’ Student Financial Aid (SFA) data are especially encouraged to apply.
