2. New Webpage and Blog Post on Cohorts and Subgroups in IPEDS
NCES has recently published a webpage providing information on how cohorts and subgroups are established in IPEDS survey components that collect student and employee data. The resource page provides an overview of each survey component, the criteria for inclusion, and the subgroups or disaggregates available within the survey component data. The webpage is designed for individuals interested in using IPEDS data, and is available from the "Other Resources" section of the Survey Component pages within the Use-the-Data page (https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/use-the-data/survey-components), and also at: https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/use-the-data/student-cohorts-and-subgroups.
A related NCES blog post discusses the resource page and the data available on student and staff cohorts. The blog post is available at: https://nces.ed.gov/blogs/nces/post/knock-knock-who-s-there-understanding-who-s-counted-in-ipeds
