This Week In IPEDS (TWII)

The Winter 2003-04 collection is now open. Our thanks go to the 500+ institutions that have already completed one or more Winter surveys. Note that the collection is scheduled to close January 28, 2004. All institutions are required to complete the Employees by Assigned Position survey and most institutions will also be required to complete the Fall Staff and Salaries components. Please look carefully at the Survey Status Page to see which surveys your institution is required to complete. We have added a feature to this page - just click on the link to see if you have completed all of your required surveys.

The Fall 2003 Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) web-based data collection closed following intensive follow-up by our coordinators, the Help Desk and the IPEDS staff with only 18 Title IV institutions remaining as non-respondents to one or both required surveys. A list of the nonresponding institutions was sent to the office of Federal Student Aid in early December.

Two Technical Review Panels were recently held during which modifications to the IPEDS surveys were discussed. Stay tuned to "What's New in IPEDS" (http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/whatsnew.asp) for a summary of these meetings along with proposed changes for future reporting requirements.
