Proposed Changes for the 2008-09 through 2010-2011 IPEDS Collection Cycles
NCES has recently posted updated information outlining the proposed changes for the next three collection year cycles, 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2010-11. Many of these changes have been in process for several months, and are now being submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for consideration. A 60-day comment period is now underway regarding these proposed changes.
The proposed changes include:
- Collection of more detailed student financial aid data
- Elimination of the First-Professional degree category
- Revisions to Finance data collected for both GASB and FASB institutions
- Phased implementation of the new Race/Ethnicity reporting categories.
