Collection Schedule for 2015-16
The schedule for the 2015-16 IPEDS collection cycle has been posted at the IPEDS Data Provider Center (https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/) and is also accessible via the Help menu in the data collection system and the following link: https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/ViewContent.aspx?contentId=21. As previously announced, information regarding changes to the 2015-16 collection are also available through the IPEDS Data Provider Center.
College Navigator Updated
College Navigator (http://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/) has been updated to include data reported to IPEDS during fall of 2014. This includes Estimated Student Expenses for 2014-15 and Completions for Awards Conferred in 2013-14. New data on services and programs for service members and veterans are located under the general information tab.
Custom Comparison Groups for the 2015 Data Feedback Report
Did you know that you can create or update a custom comparison group for your annual Data Feedback Report (DFR)? Each fall, a DFR is emailed to the CEO/President and IPEDS Keyholders and compares your institution’s IPEDS data with your peer institutions’ IPEDS data. While creating a custom comparison group is not required, creating a customized group may make the DFR more useful for your campus leaders. The deadline for creating a comparison group is July 17, 2015.
There are two ways to create a custom comparison group: 1) by using the IPEDS Data Center’s Customize DFR (http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/datacenter/) or 2) through the Data Collection System’s Tool menu and scroll down to locate Comparison Group Edit/Upload (https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/IPEDS). Instructions for creating a custom comparison group are located under the Data Collection System’s Help menu. Unsure about which institutions to include in your comparison group?
