This Week In IPEDS (TWII)
Prior Year Revision (PYR) System is Now Open
The Prior Year Revision (PYR) System is now available to keyholders for purposes of revising data submitted during the 2012-13 data collection year, and is located at: https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/ipeds_py. Survey components currently available for revision include Institutional Characteristics (Part B Admissions data and Part C), Completions, and 12-Month Enrollment. These components will be available for revision through October 16, 2013. Winter and Spring Survey components from 2012-13 will be available for revision beginning December 4 and will remain open concurrently with the survey components in the 2013-14 data collection system.
Reminder: IPEDS Will “Thank You” for Your Early Response
Do you know about the early response “thank you” email? Any institution which completes all required surveys three weeks prior to a collection deadline will have an email sent to the institution’s Chief Executive, thanking them for their early IPEDS response, and recognizing their Keyholder by name. While NCES realizes that it is not always within the Keyholder’s control to complete the surveys this early, we do want to provide a word of gratitude to you and your Chief Executive when it is possible to do so. For the Fall 2013 collection, September 25, 2013 is the date by which all fall components must be submitted in order to be eligible for this “Thank You” email.
Methodology Report Released
The following NCES publication has recently been released: 2012-13 Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Methodology Report. This report describes the universe, methods, and editing procedures used in the 2012-13 IPEDS data collection. The NCES publication number is: 2013293. It is available from the NCES publication page at: http://nces.ed.gov/pubsearch.
Data Feedback Reports for 2012-13 Soon to be Released
The annual Data Feedback Reports will be emailed to institutional Keyholders in mid-October. Additionally, coordinators will be sent an email with links to the reports for all of their institutions. To ensure that you are able to receive the report, please make sure you can receive email from DataFeedBack@kforcegov.com, by adding it to your address book. If you do not receive the email by October 18, please check your spam or junk folders. As a reminder, printed copies of the DFRs will be mailed to institution Chief Executives no later than October 31, 2013.
