Second Comment Period Open for Proposed Changes for the IPEDS 2014-15 and 2015-16 Data Collections

The Federal Register posting on August 8th [Federal Register Volume 78, Number 153] opened the 30-day public comment period on the request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for clearance for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 IPEDS data collections. Details on the proposed changes can be found on the www.regulations.gov website ( http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=ED-2013-ICCD-0029-0010). Comments should be submitted through the http://www.regulations.gov by September 9, 2013.

Updated Human Resources (HR) Survey Forms and Instructions

Please note that there are NO CHANGES in HR reporting for 2013-14. However, clarifications have been made to screens and instructions, to address respondent questions. These include: 1) Several Occupational Categories have been renamed, to better describe who should be reported in them, 2) a new “Key Reporting Concepts” section has been added to the instructions, 3) the “multi-year contract” category has been expanded to “multi-year or continuing or at-will contract,” and 4) some glossary terms have been updated. The forms and instructions are available through the Data Provider Center at: http://surveys.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/.
