This Week In IPEDS (TWII)
1. Outcome Measures (OM) Data Now Available on College Navigator
Select Outcome Measures (OM) data collected during the Winter 2016-17 collection period have recently been posted on College Navigator (https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/) to assist consumers in making decisions about choosing a postsecondary institution. The complete OM data (along with other data collected during Winter 2016-17) are anticipated to be released in the Use the Data site in the coming weeks.
2. Changes to Outcome Measures (OM) for the 2017-18 Data Collection
Data providers are reminded that there are significant changes to the Outcomes Measures (OM) data collection which begins on December 13, 2017. Details about the current changes are available on the Report Your Data Page (https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/Home/ReportYourData) and in the Help menu within the IPEDS Data Collection System. The major changes are: 1) academic calendar institutions will now report on a full year (i.e. 12-months) of entering students rather than a fall cohort, 2) data on 4 new Pell recipient and 4 Non-Pell recipient subcohorts will now be collected, 3) a new status point of 4-years after entry will be added to the existing 6- and 8-year status points, and 4) reporting of awards will be disaggregated into 3 categories: certificates, Associate’s degrees, and Bachelor’s degrees at each of the status points.
