OMB Seeks Comment on IPEDS Changes for 2019-20 Through 2021-22

See the Federal Register posting [Federal Register Volume 84, Number 54, Page 10302] opening the 60-day public comment period on the request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for changes to the IPEDS Collection years 2019-20 through 2021-22. Details on the proposed changes can be found in the Supporting Documents posted on the regulations.gov website at: https://www.regulations.gov/docket?D=ED-2019-ICCD-0028. Comments should be submitted through the regulations.gov site linked above and are due by May 20, 2019.

Data Collection Calendar 2019-20

The IPEDS data collection calendar for 2019-20 has now been posted within the Data Collection System (https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/IPEDS) under the Help menu. While the Data Collection System is only accessible by Keyholder and Coordinators, the calendar will be posted to the public website after the closing of the current data collection year.

AIR is Recruiting IPEDS Educators

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is recruiting experienced IPEDS Keyholders, coordinators, and data users to develop and deliver a curriculum to ensure the quality of data submission and improve the skills of individuals using these data. IPEDS Educators assist in developing and delivering IPEDS training, including face-to-face national workshops, online courses and tutorials, and other training materials for IPEDS survey components and data tools. Training is made possible through a contract with RTI, and funded by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The application deadline is April 1, 2019. Extended Help Desk Hours

As is the case with each collection period, the IPEDS Help Desk operates extended hours during the last 10 days of each collection. Given the upcoming Spring Keyholder deadline, the Help Desk will operate extended hours starting April 1 and continuing through April 10 as follows: Weekdays 8:30am to 8:00pm, Saturday (April 6) 9:30am to 6:00pm, and Sunday (April 7) 1:30pm to 6:00pm (all times are Eastern). Call volume is heaviest during the last 3 days and wait times on those days should be expected.
