3. Registration is Now Open for June Online Keyholder Courses
Create or update your institution’s custom comparison group for your annual Data Feedback Report (DFR), a benchmarking tool to compare your institution’s IPEDS data with your peers. Around early winter, the DFR is emailed to IPEDS Keyholders and Coordinators, before a copy is sent to the CEO/President. If a custom comparison group is not created, a NCES-created comparison group will be used as a default group. While creating a custom comparison group is not required, a customized group may make the DFR more useful for your campus leaders. The deadline for creating your customized comparison group is July 14, 2017.
The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) announces registration is now open for 2 online courses designed to enhance your knowledge as an IPEDS Keyholder. Developed by AIR, with funding provided by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), these mentor-supported, online courses are completed from the comfort of your home or office.
- IPEDS Keyholder Essentials: A Beginner’s Guide - This course, created for data providers with less than 9 months of experience as keyholders, covers basic concepts and definitions, such as: what IPEDS is, components that make up an IPEDS submission, IPEDS requirements, your responsibilities as a keyholder, as well as tips and tricks on how to complete accurate and timely IPEDS submissions.
- IPEDS Keyholder Efficiencies: Reducing the Reporting Burden - This course, created for data providers with 10-24 months of experience (who have been through all or most of a complete IPEDS cycle), introduces and expands upon concepts for IPEDS Keyholders, including cleaning data files, leveraging IPEDS data at your institution, reducing the burden of IPEDS reporting with process management and reporting, benchmarking data, and creating benchmarking reports.
NOTE: Participants may only enroll in ONE course at a time. Additionally, participants should allow 10-12 hours to complete their chosen course between June 1 and June 30, 2017.
There is no tuition charge, but space is limited to 80 participants per course. Online seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not need to be an AIR member to register.
