This Week In IPEDS (TWII)
1. Access Databases Added
The "Access Database" function has recently been updated with the following data: 2007-08, 2008-09, and 2009-10. These database files are available via the IPEDS Use the Data page. From the Survey Data menu, choosing "Access Database" from the drop-down menu will take you to the landing page, where you will find information about the functionality, as well as information about the downloadable files available.
2. Enrollment Brochure Released
NCES has released the Enrollment Brochure! IPEDS brochures inform data users (e.g., researchers, policy makers, members of the media, the general public, etc.) about the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System. The Enrollment Brochure, released August 3, 2017, uses graphics and plain language to describe how enrollment data from Title IV postsecondary institutions are collected in IPEDS. It compares the enrollment counts from the Fall Enrollment and 12-month Enrollment survey components; cites key differences and advantages to each; and provides a timeline for the release of the data, along with key terms. You can find the brochure at https://nces.ed.gov/pubsearch/pubsinfo.asp?pubid=2017137 or under "Data Products" on the "Publications and Products" page.
