1. Access Databases Updated

The "Access Database" function has recently been updated with the following data: 2015-16 Provisional Data; 2014-15 Final Data; 2010-11 Final Data. These database files are available via the IPEDS Use The Data page. From the Survey Data menu, choosing "Access Database" from the drop-down menu will take you to the landing page, where you will find information about the functionality, as well as information about the downloadable files available.

2. Trend Generator Updated

Updated data, from the 2015-16 IPEDS data collection, are now available in the IPEDS Trend Generator.

3. Custom Comparison Groups for the 2017 Data Feedback Report

Create or update your institution’s custom comparison group for your annual Data Feedback Report (DFR), a benchmarking tool to compare your institution’s IPEDS data with your peers. Around early winter, the DFR is emailed to IPEDS Keyholders and Coordinators, before a copy is sent to the CEO/President. If a custom comparison group is not created, a NCES-created comparison group will be used as a default group. While creating a custom comparison group is not required, a customized group may make the DFR more useful for your campus leaders. The deadline for creating your customized comparison group is July 14, 2017.

For detailed instructions on how to make changes, log into the IPEDS Data Collection System and click on the Custom Comparison Groups under the Help menu. For additional assistance in creating and/or uploading your institution’s custom comparison group contact the IPEDS Data Use Help Desk (866 558-0658 or ipedstools@rti.org).
