60-Day Comment Period Now Open for IPEDS
The 60-day public comment period is now open for the 2026-27 through 2028-29 IPEDS data collections. Proposed changes for 2026-27 focus on the Admissions and Consumer Transparency Supplement (ACTS), including updates to eligibility criteria, collected items, the collection methodology, and improvements to consistency between ACTS and other IPEDS survey components. There are no other changes being proposed to the IPEDS survey components.
Review the proposed changes and submit comments at Regulations.gov/. All related documents can be viewed at https://www.regulations.gov/docket/ED-2026-SCC-3037/document. Comments are due December 8, 2026. NCES currently expects the ACTS component to open in early 2027, following OMB approval, with the collection closing in April 2027. Additional information about the ACTS opening date will be provided when available.
