IPEDS TRP Summary Open for Comment

Suggestions from IPEDS Technical Review Panel #67, "Nondegree Credentials" are posted at https://edsurveys.rti.org/IPEDS_TRP/Default.aspx and are currently open for comment. This TRP meeting was held on November 16 and 17, 2022, using videoconference technology. Comments from interested parties should be sent to Amy Barmer, IPEDS Technical Review Panel Task Leader at RTI International, at ipedsTRPcomment@rti.org, and are due by February 27, 2023.

OMB Seeks Comments on Proposed Revisions to R/E Collection

OMB is currently soliciting comments on a proposed revision to the method of collecting race/ethnicity. The proposed changes include: 1) Collecting race and ethnicity together with a single question; 2) Adding a response category for Middle Eastern and North African, separate and distinct from the “White” category; and 3) Updating terminology, definitions, and question wording. Please note that these changes are NOT final and there are, as of yet, no plans or timeline for introducing these changes into the IPEDS data collection. However, now is the best time to provide feedback on the proposal, as any changes formalized by OMB will likely be implemented in IPEDS in the future.
