IPEDS Updates Webinar Now Posted
The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) has posted a recording of a recent IPEDS Updates webinar conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The webinar provides general updates on the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) annual survey, including changes to the 2023-24 collections, a brief overview of Research and Development and potential future changes, and tools for using IPEDS data. The recording and slide deck are available, free of charge, at https://www.airweb.org/collaborate-learn/webinars/2023-24-nces-ipeds-updates.
Questions about the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP)?
The annual Fall IPEDS data collection includes the Completions survey component,
which is a component that collects the number of awards and awardees by award level and program area,
as identified using CIP codes. The list of CIP codes available for use in IPEDS reporting are extensive,
and questions about the use of CIP codes can arise.
In the
Prior Year Revision System
As a reminder, the IPEDS Prior Year Revision (PYR) system is now open for revisions to Fall survey component data originally submitted in 2022-23. Institutions should review the data submitted in the prior year and revise any data that are incorrect. To view or revise data from the 2022-23 collection year, login to the Prior Year Data Revision System using your current UserID and password, at: https://surveys.nces.ed.gov/IPEDS_py/
Reminder: The Fall 2023 data collection closes to Keyholders on October 18, 2023.
